The rules for using RecDem, written to be as clear as we can make them. Please read them before you buy or install RecDem.

1. Agreement

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Skillsiya eLearning LLP, a limited liability partnership based in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, India ("RecDem", "we", "us", "our"). They govern your use of the RecDem browser extension, its built-in editor, and this website (together, the "Service").

By installing, opening or using the Service, or by buying a licence, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Pricing & Refund Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. If you use RecDem for a company or organisation, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these Terms on its behalf.

2. What RecDem does

RecDem lets you record your screen in your browser, optionally with a face cam, and then adds automatic zoom, smooth cursor movement, click highlights and other animation effects. You can fine-tune the result in the built-in editor and export a finished video.

We are always improving the Service. Features, limits and the way the product works may change over time as described in section 9.

3. Eligibility

You must be old enough to form a legally binding contract where you live (in India, 18 years). If you are younger, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf. You must also be legally allowed to use the Service under the laws that apply to you.

4. Your licence to use RecDem

Subject to these Terms and payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use RecDem for your own recording and video-making purposes, including for business use. RecDem is licensed to you, not sold.

You agree that you will not:

• copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of the software, except where the law expressly allows it;
• resell, rent, sublicense, lease or redistribute the software or your licence key;
• reverse-engineer, decompile or try to extract the source code, except where the law does not allow this restriction;
• share your licence key or login with other people, or use one licence for more people or devices than your plan allows;
• bypass, disable or tamper with device-activation limits, licence checks, or any security or technical protection;
• remove or hide RecDem branding, copyright or ownership notices that we include in the product;
• use the Service to build or train a competing product by copying our software or design.

5. Payment, licence keys and devices

RecDem can be used for free, with the limits shown on our pricing page (currently: up to 1080p export, non-commercial use, with a RecDem watermark). RecDem Lifetime removes these limits for a single one-time payment (the price shown on the pricing page at the time you buy). There is no recurring charge and no subscription.

• What you get. Your payment gives you a licence key with lifetime access to the features available in RecDem at the time of your purchase, for use on the number of devices stated on the pricing page (currently up to 2). Free bug-fix and maintenance updates are included. If we later release a substantial new version of RecDem with major new capabilities, we may offer it as a separate, optional paid upgrade; your existing licence will continue to work as described in section 10.
• Payment processing. Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record. Dodo Payments collects payment, applies taxes where required, issues your licence key and sends your receipt. We never see or store your full card details.
• Taxes. Prices are in USD. VAT, GST or other taxes may be added depending on your location.
• Device activations. Your licence key can be activated on a limited number of devices at a time, as shown on the pricing page. You can view and manage your activations from the link in your Dodo Payments receipt email, or by writing to info@recdem.com.
• Price changes. Changing our price going forward does not affect a purchase you have already made.

6. Your recordings and content

You own your videos. RecDem processes and stores recordings, face cam footage and exported videos on your own device. We do not upload them to our servers, we cannot see them, and we claim no rights over them.

You are responsible for what you record and share. In particular, you agree that:

• you have the right to record the content on your screen, including any third-party websites, software, documents, video calls and copyrighted material;
• you will get consent from other people before recording them, where the law requires it (for example in meetings, calls or classes);
• you will take care with sensitive information that can appear on screen, such as passwords, banking details, private messages or personal data. Pause or stop the recording before showing such information;
• you are responsible for how you use, publish and share the exported videos.

Because recordings stay on your device, you are also responsible for keeping backups. We cannot recover recordings that are lost, deleted or corrupted.

7. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and respectfully. You must not use RecDem to:

• break any law or regulation, or infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
• record people secretly or without the consent that the law requires;
• create content that is harassing, defamatory, hateful, or that misleads people in a harmful or fraudulent way;
• distribute malware or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, account or network;
• disrupt, overload or attack our website, our payment systems or any other part of the Service;
• encourage or help anyone else to do any of the above.

8. Third-party services

The Service depends on services that we do not control, including your browser (such as Chrome, Edge or Brave), the extension store you install RecDem from, your operating system, and Dodo Payments for payments. These services have their own terms and privacy practices, and you are responsible for following them. We are not responsible for their availability, changes or actions.

Names and logos such as Chrome, Windows and macOS belong to their respective owners and are shown only to indicate where RecDem works. They do not mean these companies endorse RecDem.

9. Support

We provide support by email at info@recdem.com. We work to reply quickly but do not promise a specific response time.

10. Updates, changes and availability

We may update, add, change or remove features at any time, for example to improve quality, fix problems, keep up with browser changes or meet legal requirements. Free bug-fix and maintenance updates are included with your licence for as long as we support the current version of RecDem. Where a change materially reduces what you paid for, we will tell you.

We do not promise that any specific future feature will be released, or that the Service will always be available or free from interruptions. Browser updates, operating system changes and maintenance can affect how RecDem works, and may occasionally require you to update to the latest version to keep using it.

11. Intellectual property and feedback

The RecDem name, logo, website, software, design and documentation belong to us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms give you a right to use the Service; they do not transfer any ownership to you.

If you send us ideas, suggestions or feedback, you agree that we may use them to improve the Service without owing you payment or credit.

12. Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free, that it will work on every website, device or browser version, or that the videos it produces will meet your specific needs.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, recordings, goodwill or business opportunities, arising from or related to your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

14. Indemnity

You agree to defend and compensate us against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your content or recordings, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

15. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if payment is not completed, or if we are required to by law. Where reasonable, we will tell you why.

When your licence ends, you must stop using the software. Sections that by their nature should continue after termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability, indemnity and governing law) will continue to apply. Termination does not affect your ownership of the videos stored on your device.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If a dispute arises, please first write to us so that we can try to resolve it informally. If it cannot be resolved within a reasonable time, the courts in Uttar Pradesh, India will have jurisdiction. This does not take away any mandatory consumer rights you may have under the laws of your own country.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for important changes, tell you by email or on our website. If you keep using the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
